Birchbox Anniversary Haul

I feel like I'm ALWAYS the last person in the world to get my Birchbox.  I've been constantly stalking everyone else's reviews of their June box while I wait for mine to be delivered.  Rather than give into my jealousy and spend my Saturday doing that and tracking the shipping information that I know won't be changing every 5 seconds, I decided to blog about my most recent Birchbox purchases!

For my one year anniversary, Birchbox gave me a 25% off coupon so I decided to use up my points and the coupon to get just a few things I had on my mind!  For every $1 you spend in the Birchbox shop, you get 1 reward point.  In addition, you can get 10 reward points for each product you review in your monthly Birchbox (typically around 5-6 products) PLUS 10 points for sharing your Birchbox on Facebook each month!  If you haven't already signed up for a Birchbox subscription, please use my referral link to sign up and take advantage of their awesome point system, great customer service, and treat yourself to a present every month!

Here is an overview of my Birchbox purchases!  Orders typically come in a bigger, orange colored box with a cute polka dot print inside.  In the past, my orders have come with a card that you can use for social media that says "Birchbox Brag," but this time mine didn't.  I'm not sure if this is because they don't do that anymore or they forgot my card.  (Not that I need anymore of those cards because I'm a hoarder and think its necessary to save them..)

Anytime you spend $35 or more in the Birchbox shop, don't forget to add a Mystery Sample Pack to your order for free!  You can purchase one for $10, but I think its definitely worth it to spend the $35 and get it for free, especially since it still allows you to use any coupon codes you want!

My sample pack actually included two products that I've already sampled before.  Normally I would be a little disappointed, but I actually really like both of these!

The Balm Cosmetics Stannic in Beauty Queen
Full Size (.3 fl oz): $17 Sample Size (.04 fl oz)L $2.26

Full Size (200 ml): $32.00 Sample Size (30 ml): $4.80

I was beyond thrilled to get the Super Comb Prep & Protect again!!  I haven't quite gotten to wear I can afford the full size, but this product is awesome.  It makes my hair so much softer and keeps frizz away.  I'm guilty of using heat on my hair every day so this is great for that.  I haven't been out in the sun much so I haven't gotten to experience whether or not its a true color protector and UV shield, but hopefully I'll get the chance soon.  The staniac looks a lot brighter than it is.  On my lips, its a very subtle, natural looking red.  I haven't actually tried it on my cheeks because I prefer powder blushes and I have concern about sticky things on my face.

Marcelle Clay Mask
Full Size (3.7 oz): $15

I've been looking for a good clay face mask for over a year now.  I've always trusted Marcelle products every since my first Birchbox (Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow has become a staple in my beauty routine) so I thought I would give this a shot.  I've only used it twice and so far I like it.  It definitely clears up my skin and its helpful because I'm guilty of neglecting my normal skin care routine on the weekends.  My skin looks brighter after using it and I love that it only has to stay on for 10 minutes.

Full Size (1.7 oz): $24

As I mentioned in my last post, I had every intention of buying this product in the full-size and I'm so glad I used my points and coupon to do so!  Its a great base for make-up and it hasn't irritated my skin.  I haven't noticed any increase in break-outs in the past few weeks I've been using it.  However, I have realized that there seems to be a trend in my obsession with Marcelle products for my face.  Another favorite of mine are the, Marcelle Oil Free Eye Make-Up Remover Pads, which work like magic.

Total Value of Purchases: $46.06 (I included the sample size prices rather than the $10 mystery sample pack price since there was a bit of a discrepancy)

Amount I paid: $11.59 (after using 20 Birchbox points and my 25% discount code)

Side Note: I didn't have to pay for shipping because Birchbox Aces receive free shipping on all orders!  To become a Birchbox Ace, you just need to earn 500 points in one year (which isn't hard to do if you have a subscription and always review your samples).

I'm starting to realize that Marcelle may just be a brand that was meant for me so in the future I'm hoping to use up my points to try more of their awesome products!  I tend to be loyal when it comes to beauty products- I don't like to change things up too much because my skin is pretty sensitive.  Luckily, I have Birchbox to listen to my needs and their shop has so many products that work for me!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!  Treat yourself and please use my referral link to sign up for Birchbox.  It's only $10 a month and you can currently use the coupon code: SUBSCRIBENOW50 to get 50 points in the Birchbox shop when you sign up ($5 to spend)!  If you already know you'll love it as much as I do, you can sign up for an annual subscription for $110 (one month will be free) and you'll get 100 points ($10 to spend in the Birchbox shop)!  I hope you all take advantage of this and find some life saving beauty products like I have!

XOXO,

Jen

  2. My June Birchbox is running late, too :( But I also just used my 25% off coupon to place an order of some full-size products! My mystery sample pack included the Marcelle BB cream you mentioned, so I'm looking forward to trying that out.
