August 2015 Birchbox Review

Image
Birchbox has always been one of my favorite subscription boxes.  Each month, you receive 4-6 samples based on a beauty profile you fill out.  It's only $10 a month and you can use coupon code: SUBSCRIBENOW50 to earn 50 points ($5) to spend in the Birchbox shop when you subscribe.  In addition, Birchbox allows you to choose one of your sample choices each month or choose a guest editor curated box.  After receiving your box, you can review each sample and share your box on facebook/twitter to earn 10 points per review/share (typically, you'll earn about 60 points a month just by doing this)!  Their point system is great and their customer service is amazing. If you haven't already signed up for a Birchbox subscription, please use my referral link  to do so!  There's nothing better than receiving a present in the mail every month and getting to try out new things. Here is this month's box!  I thought the design was perfect for the end of summe...

June Birchbox Review

Image
After waiting what seemed like forever, my June Birchbox finally arrived.  Although, I had already peeked when my items were revealed on the 10th of the month, I still always get excited to receive it!   If you aren't familiar with Birchbox, it's a monthly beauty subscription box where you received 4-6 sample items based on the profile information you fill out when you sign up.  It's only $10 a month and if you sign up now, you can use the code SUBSCRIBENOW50 to receive 50 points when you sign up ($5 to spend in the Birchbox shop).  So if you haven't done it already, please use my referral link to sign up! This month there were 3 different boxes you could receive.  Mine says "next stop adventure."  I think I would have liked this better if I could currently afford to go on an adventure.  Side note: I don't like to write negative things, but I will say this is the least favorite of the special boxes from 2015. This month's theme was ...

May 2015 Birchbox Review

Image
I'll go ahead and admit I became a horrible blogger (my last post was in October....).  However, in my defense, I've had A LOT going on the last several months.  Let's just say that graduating law school, taking the bar, finding a job, finding a place to live, and basically all of my income going straight to student loans has been quite the adjustment.  I'll spare you all from the details and get to the real point of the first of many more posts to come as I get back into my regular blogging routine! Apparently, it's been a year since I subscribed to Birchbox !  I didn't even realize it until I received the Anniversary Key Chain from them.  So I thought, what better way to revive my blog than to write about my second May Birchbox ! This month, there was the option for a curated box by Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere .  However, I didn't opt for the curated box because I like to have somewhat of a surprise :)  The May Box is supposed ...

September 2014 Birchbox Review

Image
I'll go ahead and admit that I've been a horrible blogger recently.  Starting a new job has been really stressful, but I'm happy to say that I love my job.  I think its a really great fit for me and its such a great change from law school.  Plus its really helped me to get out of my comfort zone by having to answer the phones and deal with people who aren't always the nicest.  For the first time in my life, I finally feel like I've started a new path doing something I like rather than doing something that is just teaching me what I don't want to spend my life doing :) Anyway, now that I'm getting used to my new routine, I should be back to blogging more.  I figured the best way to celebrate my return to the blogging world would be to do a much belated review of September's Birchbox! For those of you who are unfamiliar with  Birchbox , it is a monthly subscription service that typically sends you 4-5 samples of beauty products for only $10...

September 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Image
Happy Monday!  This is my first month receiving an  Ipsy Glam Bag  so I'm excited to share with you guys my first thoughts!  I've seen thousands of pictures of those pink packages everyone gets so ecstatic about in the mail so I couldn't wait to open my first one!  Ipsy is just $10 a month and you receive 4-5 deluxe beauty samples.  Also, once you receive your bag, you can log into your account and each product that Ipsy features that month has links to coupons, which I think is great.  Ipsy also tries to customize bags to your preferences with a beauty quiz you take before signing up.  If you like my review, please use my  referral link  to sign up for next month! So here it is...the famous Ipsy mailer bag.  I know this is going to be a shock because its pink, but I hate this bag.  Maybe I'm just not a fan of metallics, but I think its a bit tacky and it kind of made me feel like I had just walked into Party City.  ...

Birchbox Anniversary Box Review

Image
In honor of their 4th Anniversary,  Birchbox  created a special edition Anniversary Bonus Box with 4 deluxe sample favorites from over the years.  You can receive this box by purchasing $50 or more worth of full-size products from the Birchbox Shop and using the code BONUSBOX at checkout.  I kindly received this box due to my concern from my last post about having received the same samples in the Ace Exclusive Bonus Pack.  I can't say it enough how amazing the customer service is at Birchbox. I always love the outer-packaging that every Birchbox comes in!  It's so cute and I get sad to throw it away :( I was really surprised to see that Birchbox's 4th ANNIVERSARY box was simply packed in the usual Birchbox packaging.  I was expecting some cool, special box that looked like it had a celebration inside!  This is one of the few times I'll ever say that Birchbox definitely failed here. Here's an overview of the 4 products I received. ...

August 2014 Lip Monthly Review

Image
Lip Monthly  is a monthly subscription box that sends you a variety of 2-3 full size products and a variety of 2-3 sample products.  The box typically includes lip balms, lipsticks, lip glosses, lip stains, and usually a random make-up item to spice things up.  It's only $10 a month, but you can use the coupon code FALL5 (today is unfortunately the last day to use it) to get your first box for $5.  You can also use the code 1ST299 to get your first box for $2.99 if you choose a 4 month plan.  If you're interested in signing up, please use my  referral link . Lip Monthly is relatively new and so the first few months, they had some issues with late orders and confusion as to how to login to your account.  However, they seem to have fixed all of these problems and I was excited to see that this month came with a cute little cosmetics bag that I will definitely reuse.  I saw variations in colors, but I love the bright blue that I received. He...
