May 2015 Birchbox Review

Image
I'll go ahead and admit I became a horrible blogger (my last post was in October....).  However, in my defense, I've had A LOT going on the last several months.  Let's just say that graduating law school, taking the bar, finding a job, finding a place to live, and basically all of my income going straight to student loans has been quite the adjustment.  I'll spare you all from the details and get to the real point of the first of many more posts to come as I get back into my regular blogging routine! Apparently, it's been a year since I subscribed to Birchbox !  I didn't even realize it until I received the Anniversary Key Chain from them.  So I thought, what better way to revive my blog than to write about my second May Birchbox ! This month, there was the option for a curated box by Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere .  However, I didn't opt for the curated box because I like to have somewhat of a surprise :)  The May Box is supposed ...

October Birchbox Reveal

Image
Happy  Birchbox  reveal day!   If you're like me, you love the 10th of every month because it means you get to take a sneak peek to see what will be in your Birchbox for that month.  Some subscribers are lucky enough to receive their box before this day, but the rest of us have to wait.  I'm too impatient to ever wait until I get my actual box so I always ruin the surprise.  If you have no idea what I'm talking about, please use my referral link and sign up for Birchbox to receive 4-5 deluxe sample size beauty products each month. Here's a screenshot of the products I'm receiving for October.  I didn't think that Birchbox would be able to compete with last month, but I'm thrilled to see that they didn't let me down!  I'm excited to be receiving 6 products because that means I'll get 60 Birchbox points for my review, which is $6 for the Birchbox shop! For this month's sample choice, I picked the  ModelCo Party Proof Lipstick  in ...

September 2014 Birchbox Review

Image
I'll go ahead and admit that I've been a horrible blogger recently.  Starting a new job has been really stressful, but I'm happy to say that I love my job.  I think its a really great fit for me and its such a great change from law school.  Plus its really helped me to get out of my comfort zone by having to answer the phones and deal with people who aren't always the nicest.  For the first time in my life, I finally feel like I've started a new path doing something I like rather than doing something that is just teaching me what I don't want to spend my life doing :) Anyway, now that I'm getting used to my new routine, I should be back to blogging more.  I figured the best way to celebrate my return to the blogging world would be to do a much belated review of September's Birchbox! For those of you who are unfamiliar with  Birchbox , it is a monthly subscription service that typically sends you 4-5 samples of beauty products for only $10...

September 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Image
Happy Monday!  This is my first month receiving an  Ipsy Glam Bag  so I'm excited to share with you guys my first thoughts!  I've seen thousands of pictures of those pink packages everyone gets so ecstatic about in the mail so I couldn't wait to open my first one!  Ipsy is just $10 a month and you receive 4-5 deluxe beauty samples.  Also, once you receive your bag, you can log into your account and each product that Ipsy features that month has links to coupons, which I think is great.  Ipsy also tries to customize bags to your preferences with a beauty quiz you take before signing up.  If you like my review, please use my  referral link  to sign up for next month! So here it is...the famous Ipsy mailer bag.  I know this is going to be a shock because its pink, but I hate this bag.  Maybe I'm just not a fan of metallics, but I think its a bit tacky and it kind of made me feel like I had just walked into Party City.  ...

August 2014 Wantable Intimates Review

Image
Wantable Intimates has easily become my favorite subscription box.  Wantable has 3 different types of subscriptions: Makeup, Accessories, and Intimates.  In order to subscribe, you take a short quiz to pick out what you like and dislike then receive 4-5 handpicked items according to your preferences for $36 a month.  So far, I haven't been disappointed with any Wantable box...I've received all 3 of the types of boxes and Wantable has great customer service!  If you dislike your box, you can send it back for a full refund and I've had experiences where an item was broken or I disliked something and they sent me a replacement :)  If you're interested in signing up for any of the three boxes, please use my  referral link .  Also, in the next month or two, Wantable is adding an athletic wear collection which I can't wait for! Here is an overview of the 5 pieces I received in my box...I think my preferences were set to love Fun and Flirty so this gives...

Weekends are for Birchbox Brags

Image
Happy Saturday everyone!  It's been a long week for me so nothing made me happier than to get my  Birchbox  package in the mail yesterday!  I had missed the UPS man by about 2 minutes on Thursday and was DEVASTATED that I didn't get the package then...my boyfriend probably thought I was insane for being so upset over a package.  To ensure that I didn't miss it today, I literally sat outside and waited for UPS for a solid two hours for this.  I guess the first step is always admitting you have an addiction so I'll go ahead and admit that I'm addicted to Birchbox. I had about 80 points saved up so I used them all to get this for free :)  I also added the Mystery Sample Pack which gives you two samples for orders over $35 for free and I also added the Ace Exclusive Bonus Pack again since my order was over $75. To be honest, I'm extremely disappointed that the Ace Bag contained the exact same samples as the last one I received.  I'm guessin...

LuxePineapple- One of My Favorite Hidden Gems

Image
Back during the days of bar study, I was accidentally procrastinating (aka reading 100s of beauty blogs) when I stumbled upon  LuxePineapple .  At first, I was incredibly confused as to what exactly it was.  It's not your typical subscription box company because in fact, they don't do subscription boxes.  Actually, they do something better: boxes of joy.  Frequently, usually at least once or twice a week they create a limited number of these boxes that have amazing beauty products for an UNBELIEVABLE discount.  My last purchase was a $15 box of joy filled with $75 worth of incredible make-up.  They also offer other single items at discounted prices and even some fan favorite discontinued colors in certain brands, such as Chanel.  Every time I get an email from them, I can't help but smile because I know it will contain some MUST HAVE deal to tempt me and I won't be disappointed. Each box of joy comes in this adorable packaging...and no I don't...

Square Hue Subscription August 2014 Review

Image
Square Hue  is a monthly nail polish subscription that delivers 3 specially curated nail polish colors to your door monthly for $14.99 a month.  The BEST part is that some of the proceeds of your order go to charity :)  There's no commitment and you can cancel at any time, which is a great quality in my opinion for a subscription box!  This was my first month using Square Hue so I was excited to get home from vacation and finally try out the colors.  Each month has a different theme and for August, the theme was the Beverly Hills Passport Collection. Yes, I thought I was cool and would be super creative and throw in my passport with the picture of the collection...lame, I know. This month's box came with a purple micro shimmer (Cannon Drive), a blue micro shimmer (Wilshire Boulevard), and a gold micro glitter (Rodeo Drive).  I LOVE all of these colors and I'm glad this was my first box.  I haven't used the purple yet, but I'm sure I will withi...

I Went to Oregon and Had a Life Changing Facial

Image
It's been about 3 weeks since I've finished the California Bar Exam.  I remember the first few days after finishing (most of which I spent sleeping), I suddenly panicked and thought "what in the world do I do now?!"  This was about to be the first time in 21 years that I wasn't starting a new school year and the past 3 years of law school had sort of made me forgotten what I loved to do in my free time.  Being in the limbo phase of the end of law school and finding out bar results is such an odd time in a person's life.  You have to find a job because pretty soon those student loans can't be ignored, but you're not yet sure if you're even an attorney.  I started to feel lost, confused, and unsure about everything.  My biggest fear has always been that feeling of uncertainty, of not knowing what's going to happen next.  I always had a plan, but right now for the first time in my life, I don't know where I'll be or what I'll be doing ...
